Hydrowave comments from my trusted Ranger family

At first, I was going to post to the main forum, but thought I'd get input from the guys I know. So I saw a spot w Jeff Kreit, saying he has seen things that proved to him that it worked.... but....I don't remember him cashing in any big checks last year. Don't get me wrong, I like Jeff's good ole boy personality....but... where is the line drawn between sponsorship, marketing and reality?

I will say this, I installed one in Nov, firt tournamnet, i crank it up on first pass throwing square bills, i kid u not the shad start popping up, one here, one there, about 15 yards in front of the boat. Its no fluke, I do think it "calls" them up some. Also drop shotting in 30 ft i can turn it on and move schools up of the bottom. Its an interesting tool either way

    Re: (hellathump)

Is it calling up shad or bass?

I have had one on my boat for three months or so at this time. I have been on the water and at times it seems to help with my catch rate and other times it doesn't. I look at the HW as a tool that "could possibly" help me catch fish. I figure that there are a high percentage of deer hunters here on the boards just as me. Every time I go to the deer stand, I have a "grunt" call in my arsenal to use. Does the "grunt" call bring in a buck every time I blow it................no it doesn't; But every once in a while the call will bring in a buck..................actually quite often if used properly. I equate the HW's principal to the deer call..................just a tool to possibly help my success rate. One difference, the HW is quite a bit more costly than the "Grunt Call" is, but my boat cost a hell of a lot more than my deer rifle did also ......................JMHO........................ ...RR

I "need" to get myself one of those! I have a good friend that is on the Tour and he swears by it.

Re: Hydrowave comments from my trusted Ranger family (GhostComanche)

Was at a fishin show recently and heard a talk by KVD. He mentioned the Hydrowave specifically, saying that it wasn't magic but it does work. He felt that if it will get him one or two more bites in a day, then it's worth it. he also told us that he has bought an interest in the Hydrowave. A 'microscopic" interest as he stated but nontheless. He bought into it because he was using it and believes in it.
He said when using it to be careful with how you use it. Don't run around with the volume blasting because you are just going to spook them that way. Low volume in calm conditions and louder under windy conditions.

I also need to say that KVD was one of the nicest guys I have met. Talks to you like he is regular people. Seems to love what he is doing and sharing it with the fans. He seems to be keenly aware that he is fortunate to be in the position he is in and grateful to the sponsors and fans who have him there. Not better than thou and arrogant like some pros I have met. Takes his kids fishing when he is not on the road and still likes hauling his own boat to and from tournaments.
