Ranger in my price range -Need imput please

I'm looking at a new TR 177 and would like to know about build quality, front deck space, quality of seats, carpet etc, basically is it a "Ranger"? Is the 2011 model better than a 2010?
    Thanks

Since you mentioned price I will say this. Unless you are ONLY fishing 2,000 acre lakes or less AND do not take much tackle I would look for a used boat of at least 18ft 6 inches. Small boats are nice at times, but 99% of the time a 18-19fter will be WAY better. I would think you could find a 2005 to 2008 518 or 519 for around the same as the 177. I still remember buying my first NEW boat. I knew my price range and I just HAD to have a new boat, no used would do. I got a 1999 Javelin R19 which was a nice boat, but a couple years after I got it I would see 20fters that were a few years older than mine and I sure wish I would have went the used route and got the bigger boat (my home lake is Sam Rayburn). I got a "new" boat last year and bought a 1997 ranger. Its older than the jav but much bigger and is night and day a better boat.

Check out a Z117. Bigger decks and "newer" layout. Similar in price to a 177.

Don't think I can buy one you mentioned for $18K. And no guarantees

I own a 177TR with a Yamaha 115 four stroke. The decks are huge on this boat. The semi rounded (retro style) nose gives you a lot of room at the bow. It rides smooth and has a top end of 45. It is Ranger quality in every way (hull, carpet, trailer, etc.) except one...the two seats on the bench are just okay. They are comfortable enough but the back has a tendency to work loose from the screws in it, makes it hard to fold down some time. The fishing seats, however, are top notch, very comfortable and pure Ranger quality.

I love my boat, I fish big lakes in it, Falcon, Rayburn, etc and it handles big waves if you can drive it. Can it handle them as well as a bigger Ranger? Of course not.

I love this boat. Ranger hit a home run with it. Beautiful, open floor plan, good storage, quality. Fishes really well. And the four stroke Yamaha is the bomb, a joy to use.

I would look at the new Z117 and compare if I was buying a new boat. I don't know enough about the Z boat yet to say which way I would go. I bet there is a substantial price difference. And my boat fits barely into my garage, don't know if the Z would.
