    z118 vs z119 deck space

    Hi guys.

Just got back from the toronto boat show whicj probably had over 300 boats with.......1 bass boat in the whole place a nitro z6.

I was really hoping to compare the front deck of the z118 and z119. From the catologue it looks like the edge goes to the z118 because the z119 has the cooler in the set up to the front.

Has any one seen these boats in person to know?

    Thanks guys

I own a Z519. I think there might be one to two more inches in width on the Z119 but deck length probably goes to Z188 from my observation

Not sure what you mean about the cooler. I have a 119: front deck is 66 inches down the center line TO the cooler step, which is about 4 inches lower than the rest of the deck. If you measure including that "step," it's 83 inches down the center line. Laying rods down at an angle, it's more than 7 feet to touch the consoles (mine is dual), then you have the console slots to add another foot. Front deck is also 66 inches wide at the pedestal, on the carpet. Standing area on the carpet just ahead of the console/s on the 119 is 24 inches on both sides.

If you're thinking about space for two anglers up front, no problem. That deck is very long and very wide. A second angler won't have a problem with the cooler/step, because the deck is so wide there's no need for them to stand in the middle anyway. Cooler/step area is much smaller than the higher deck area on either side of it. You've also got about 3 feet in the center (behind the pedestal) before you get to that small step area. You could also cover the step with an extension, but I can't see any reason to do so.

We had exact comparisons of the two boats on here last winter. iIRC, the deck measurement on the 118 from bow to console is about 6 inches shorter than 119.

[I stand corrected: 2 inches shorter than the 119.]

    The Z119.

ACROSS THE PEDESTAL AREA (BOW) 67 INCHES

ACROSS THE CONSOLE AREA 80 INCHES

FROM THE CONSOLE TO THE BOW PLATE 82 INCHES

FROM THE CENTER LID TO THE BOW PLATE 64 INCHES

    The Z118

ACROSS THE PEDESTAL AREA 63 INCHES

ACROSS THE CONSOLE AREA 78 1/2 INCHES

FROM THE CONSOLE TO THE BOW PLATE 81 INCHES

FROM THE CENTER LID TO THE BOW PLATE 80 INCHES

Hope this helps you out some, for the difference in the length i would go Z119 for better ride.

Re: z118 vs z119 deck space (RangerRodney)

Thanks Rodney. If you posted those measurements before I missed them. The extra 4 inches of the Z119 at the pedestal makes a big difference if you fish with the butt seat in. By the time you lay 3 or 4 rods on deck on each side of you, there isn't a ton of wiggle room up there.

If you usually fish without the seat, there is plenty of room and regardless of the butt seat there is plenty of room for two fishermen to fish from the front. We do it my Z118 all the time.

As you can see from Rodney's measurements and these pictures of my front deck, the width of the Z118 bellies out from the pedestal back. The front deck, the $10,000 difference compared to the Z119 and the type of water I generally fish tilted me to buy the Z118 but I looked at the Z119 really hard.

If I was regularly fishing bigger water like Erie I would go with (at least) the Z119.
