I was thinking the same thing. There's only a very small portion of LU and a blade to a blade and a half in the water at any one time.

Herre's a real update. Went to go pick up the boat yesterday and fought some bitterly cold temps...never got above freezing I think. Boat ran good, there's some serious potential here that will be tapped in due time. Steering is weird since it doesn't have the feedback we are used to but that's just a learning curve. Running with 2, the Talon/360, TM and 100lbs of lead shot...basically loaded to fish besides about 50-60lbs of tackle we went 102. That was with a 32 Signature 4 at 6400 and still about 15psi of water pressure. There was more throttle and more jackplate left too, we were having a hard time with the steering and the quartering waves while sorting out the ballasting. Think the original (ultimate) goal of 110 loaded to fish will not be unattainable. This thing pulls like a freakin freight train in the midrange and we never saw the point it stopped accelerating, it is gonna be a seat time issue from here.
It liked both a stiff unvented 29 Promax and the Signature, the Signature felt a little better as there was less stern lift but that could have been partly due to the conditions. Thinking a 28 bravo will be a rocket of a 100mph fishing prop and a 34 will probably find its way on here pretty soon for some stripped down speed runs.

Nice looking rig. That motor is huge! Looks like it would snap right off the transom.
Good lord. I love it
102 MPH fishing rig!!! Wow....![]()
That motor looks as big as the tow vehicle. nice looking rig
Dale Sinclair original
Yeah that angle def makes it look big, not that it's a small engine just that angle makes her butt look fat.
5-dinks, it's not slow but will be faster once we get some seat time. Figure it will be 105ish with all the stuff or 110 without the Talon/360 but still with the trolling motor and 2 guys then 113+++ without the troller and a single.
This angle is a little better I think

I'm afraid it will cause some freeway incidents from guys staring at that beast.
just curious; what gears in the LU ? what kind of rev limit ?

Fishnfire - lol it might, Moby causes people to do a double take for sure. The 400r has 1.75 gears and a 7k redline, heard reports that 7150 is available in the right conditions.
BB51 - good enough, it ain't small :-)...that's what she said.
