Keel guard on 721

How many of you have a keel guard, regardless of manufacturer on your 721's or Phoenix's in general. I know Phoenix does not recommend adding one to their boats. Is anyone having any performance issues or hooking issue with keel guards. Where I live and fish most of the time, the lakes are lowered during the winter and none of the courtesy docks are in the water. I really hate the thought of beaching my boat. Especially, as it has a black hull. It will show every little scratch.

We put KeelShields on just about all of the ones we have sold. No problems at all with them so far.

No problems here either and we have installed half a dozen or so Hambys on various Phoenix models.

I have a Keel Shield on my 618. It starts just below the bow wings, and it works great.

I have a Hambys and it has had no effect on performance that I can see with normal and proper operation of the boat. Maybe if the boat is completely mishandled an additional hook could occur but I have not sensed the situation and the boat might hook anyway under those circumstances.

I launch alone and sometimes have to beach the boat on the ramp or on the side mud and rocks.

Every time I think to myself..."sure glad I have a Hambys on there"...

The peace of mind is worth it.

I have a Hamby's and there has been no issue that I can notice. I really need a good keel guard with all the rocks in central Texas and few curtesy docks.

I have a 6' guard that starts just below the bottom bow wing - never had an issue

Thanks for the input guys. Phoenix does not recommend adding one. Based upon your feedback, I will be adding one soon.
