1997 johnson 200hp (j200stleub) dies when i put it in gear

My motor 1997 johnson 200hp (j200stleub) dies when I put it in gear idels good just dies when i put it in gear, Stator, power pack, spark plugs, have been replaced. Compression is about 120 on all cyl. need help please

Haved you checked the lower unit fluid?

no i haven't that would kill it when you put it in gear

If the gears are locked up it sure will.

i can get the prop to spin if i push in the choke then i top out at 3200 rpms

Could be power pack. But I am by no means a mechanic.
