Mike,

I am a current owner of a 21 I Class Skeeter and have had nothing but problems with the boat, motor, and accesories. This is my 2nd bug boat and I have owned two Procrafts as well. My procraft never gave me a problem other than a trailer issue which was paid for by the manufacturer.

I can honestly tell you my next boat will be a Phoenix.

The ride on the I class is very stable and storage and fishability are great. Its a great ruff water boat, but the finish of the boat is not up to par. Screws popping out, livewell pumps replaced 4 times in two years, the Yammi is a POC, goes into limp mode quite often-Even Yammaha can't figure it out.

So overall I would take a close look at Phoenix. Why? Because it is a well made baot, offers features no one else offers, and you have a choice for a change of what engine you want. Peresonally I would go back to the OPTI XS Merc.

When you look at boats look at the finish closely. Open the lids up and check how the manufacturer mounts items such as the lids, handles, etc.

Look into the battery box and see how the batteries and tanks are stored.

Take a ride in both the I Class and the Phoenix. The Skeeter is front loaded with incentive money dollars that you don't have to pay for in the Phoenix. You will also save atleast $8-10K on the Phoenix.
