What's it worth?

Posted this on the Motors for sale page but thought I would ask here also. 1999 Johnson 225 HO with one bad cylinder - broke wrist pin. No visible damage other than scored cylinder. Would like to sell motor and controls.

whatever you can get for it. I paid 3000 for a less than 100 hour 225HO that was not blown or anything wrong with it. so it is a buyers market first off it is a carbed model and mostly people want a dfi or efi motor ( supposed gas savings) , 2) a lot of places may or may not work on it , 3) a lot of people think since it is a OMC product there are inherent problems with a pre BRP motor , tho we know they are screamers. if you dont get a offer you like then post it on scream and fly and usually in a few days it will sell as those guys are always looking for carb motors to hop up and race and a nice 225ho complete well it should be gone in as I said a few days. good luck

I'll open and close the bidding at $200.00. No buddy wants them old POS's, I'll even come over and pick it up. WOW what a dream! But if you don't want it cluttering up the yard I'll be in Guntersville through sunday and would haul it away for you .

I recently tried to get something for my 99' 225 Ficht on a trade. It had low compression on one cylinder. It even still ran fairly decent. I got squadoosh. Went to the boneyard at the dealer. If someone would give you $200 and haul it off, I would take them up on it.

as Fred and I both said the old carbs are what the racers want , the fichts forget it if pre BRP. I have a " Silver Bullet" on my stratos and it is an awesome motor, most people down here dont see old stratoses going 70+ mph down the lake. DG sell it to Fred he be berry berrry happy to help you with it.
