    Trailer tires

Have any of you guys had any trouble with the trail america tires that come on the nitro trailers? I was out this weekend and had a blowout. The trailer has less than 1500 miles on it. I did some research and it appears there have been a lot of blowouts on that brand of tire. Just curious if anyone else has had any trouble.

Ryan I had one pop up a big knot and had belts seperate, caught it before it blew out. I am not sure how many miles were on it, but it was about a year ago when it happened.

Mine lasted 1 season and there were badly cupped almost down to the cords and had a really bad wear pattern.

I replaced mine with marathons and i have had no wear issues or problems since.

It happens on all tires, make sure your running close to 50psi, or close to the max recommended air pressure. I have had marathons blow out, I have not had the trail americas blow out yet, my last boat they wore down rather quickly. On my current boat they seem to be wearing well.

I had one blow on my rig, and when I checked the dates, the tires were over 4 yrs old, but I bought the boat/trailer new only 2 yrs prior. Had to wait for them to build it even.

    Re: Trailer tires (TRCM)

I brought the boat in today and got a new set of tires from my tire place. I traded in the tires that came on the boat but had to pay a little extra to boot. The dealership is getting 2 new tires for me on warranty that I included in the trade with my tire guy. It sucks having to spend a little money on tires on a brand new trailer but now at least I have a little peace of mind.
