I love this motor but it is having a annoying little problem that is driving me crazy. Here is the over temp alarm history:
Idiling and it went off. Shut motor off, checked intakes, worked good for 15 mins - then sounded again - reset and ran for an hour with no issue. Took to the dealer - overheat was .5 degree that caused alarm - software update. Ok for a couple of months.
After trolling for 2 hrs, took off and was running at 4000rpms and it went off. Checked motor, no blockage, seemed cool, ran for 15 mins, alarm off again - this happen about 5 times on my 30 mile run in. Back to the shop. Again .5 degree over-temp on the computer readout. New thermostats and software update. Ok for a couple of months.
Alarm went off idiling out of the inlet. Based on the history, said to heck with it and ran an hour. As soon as it the throttle was cut back alarm goes off. Reset and we are back in business for the rest of the day - until the ride back in when it cuts us back down to 1200 rpms when the alarm goes off. We reset - and ride back in.
So - I guess it is back to the shop-but this is getting a bit old. The motor is great since we got the pin mod and started running the new plugs. Any help or ideas would be appreciated??
