Chine Walk question..

Do Legend Boats chine walk as bad as other boats at high speeds? I got to drive a Triton Tr-21 this past weekend and the chine was pretty bad. Just wondering how bad a Legend chine walks. Thanks fellas!

I guess it depends what you mean by high speeds? I do 72- 73 in mine and could tie my shoes. If I try to push it more it does tend to need to be "driven". I've seen 75 and really had to apply myself. I also noticed that the more weight in the back the easier it was to keep stable. I would say it is not bad at all.

Low 70's no walk at all, upper 70's still not terrible..especially after coming out of a TR series triton.

"Anything below 74mph and mine doesn't walk at all, above 75 and I feel more comfortable with both hands on the wheel." Show off. LOL. I can make a sandwich when running in mine but I am loaded and doing 65.

I wouldn't say my 199 walks....more like if you haved it trimmed up and pedal way down hauling butt it's more like loose.Very easy to handle but it feels like a fast boat.

Ive owned a Cat and know exactly what you're saying. The Legend I test drove when I ordered my 211, which isn't done yet, wouldn't even come close to walking like my cat. Some boats you have to white knuckle and drive, and Legend, from my personally experience is not one of them.

I personally have not had a walking issue when the boat is trimmed correctly. Note that the boat does NOT need to be trimmed to the maximum that the motor will allow. There is a sweet spot at about 2/3 trim where the boat runs its fastest and doesnt walk. If you experience any Chine, the boat is most likely over trimmed and you will notice a loss in speed. Only minor corrections at 75+ when youre in a light chop. My opinion is that the chop itself is creating this need.
