    how do you guys...

hook up your winch snap when you're loading your boat? I can't reach it when I run my 2100 on the trailer without sticking a foot in the water or performing some major yoga moves. Usually I have to step on the trailer platform, hook the boat, and then pull/winch it on while balancing on the trailer tongue. Ya'll got a better way?

I built myself a platform big enough to stand on and hook the strap. I also changed the winch to a 2 speed type.

Thanks for the reply, Tony. Could you tell a little more about the platform you made and why you wanted a 2-speed winch?

Lay down on the deck and reach over and hook it. Climb out of the boat, stand on the tongue and winch it tight. If the ramp is steep enough, I can do it all from standing on the ramp.

IM me your email and I can send you a picture of my platform. The reason is I changed to a 2 speed winch is to make it easier to winch the boat in the shallow launch areas. Believe me at my age and at the angle you are at winching the boat up YOU NEED IT!

Re: how do you guys... (Blue Steel)

I"m the same way, lay on deck, but I drive boat on trailer until bow eye hits the roller, then hook it up. Gambler boats fit on the trailers so well that when I"m with some one they can pull me out without hooking up. My fishing partner & I both have 2100, we do the same when being pulled out.

Keep in mind, there may be some lakes that do not allow you to power the boat on the trailer and there also may be shallow launching areas

I tried to buy one of these for my last Gambler

    http://www.boat-board.com/

Last time I talked to them about a year ago, they didn't make them for Gamblers, but maybe if enough of us want them they might. Or if someone has a trailer close to them to use to build one, we may all benefit from it. Looks pretty slick.

Thanks Mike for posting the pics. I hope the guys can get ideas from them. I know it is WAY easier and safe when loading the boat. The 2 speed winch is also key!

I"ll say one thing about California lakes, we do have nice boat launches. That is a very nice step setup, but at my age 67 I"ll stay in the boat
