    Performance ??????????????

Has any one run a early to mid 90's Intimidator with a 300+ hp motor? I have looked around for some examples to follow setup. When I get Mine back I am trying to figure out where to start. It will be a completely different beast now. i had good HP before with the 2.6 @ 270 but the tourque was terrible I could spin any prop I could break over to the moon but that was the problem any thing with larger diameter would not even break over. I dont think I will have that problem. What is the fastest any have seen these 19'3" boats go? Any info would be appreciated.

I think someone had one with a 3 liter merc......There has got to be a limit as far as speed goes with that hull, can't wait to see what you get. Let me know if you need a merc or Yam prop as I can probably do better (price)new than just about anyone.

What prop you think would be the best for this motor? I believe with the 1.81 gears it will haveto be pretty tall.

    Re: Performance ?????????????? (trashy)

The motor is going to be a Yamaha 225 o66 with a stage 2+ 3.1 liter it dynos at the powerhead 310 hp. It should be much better tourque wise.
The 3.1 hammer weights 80 lbs mor than my 2.6 pro-v.

I'll get in touch with WDBrand for you if you want, I believe he has a 29 Hydro. My fishing partner is the one who built his motor. I've been up close and personal with that ride and it is SICK.

I would think a 29T1 may be a good start, a stiff tempest would work too.

    Re: Performance ?????????????? (gamblerjewell)

This same motor set up ran 89.5 on a blazer and 92.5 on a triton. They steped up to a stage 3 on the 20' triton with ligt flywheel and it ran 96. THere is a video Hydrotec took on Utube. I just wonder what it will do on my boat. The motor is already being put on my gambler so we will find out. I was looking for some setup help tto try to get a headstart.

Any one know where the 3.1 lowers blow out at. The guys at HT said it would be capable of mid to upper 80's. They ran the blazer up to 87 I believe and then they had to change it to a bob's nosecone to get close to 90.

    Re: Performance ?????????????? (trashy)

I have driven one that blew out a couple of times in the upper 70's that hooked pretty hard. I may only push her into the mid 80's and leave it at that. There are not any other round here that can even bust 80, I do want to be safe, but I would like to know that if I wanted I could reach the big 90. I think that I would need the hpdi LU to reach it safely though. I dont think I will go with a Bob's nose because the pickups have a tendancy to pick up debri to easily and clog the water passages. Thanks for the advice guys keep it coming. I can't wait to see how it will run. I think that with perfect conditions the boat will handle the speed and be controlable. With my hyd. steering I dont have any chine walking so far to 80, we will have to see past that point if it will go past that point wiht the new motor.
