looking at a 2200 with 300x have been told boat runs 95. I have owned four 2100's with 250's which were honest 81-82 mph boats . Been out of Gamblers for three years , are they that fast now?

I believe there are a few pushing into the 90's with the right set up

I once road in a 2200 with a 300 Merc the boat ran 92 MPH GPS. The boat was owned by a guy named Roger Koopman. His boat was the nicest rig i have ever seen in person. Maybe one day i will be able to afford one.

I am running a 30 Bravo, and my lower unit is coned... I haven't got it back yet... but I am anxious to see what it can do when I get it back... I have heard of only one 2200 running in the 90's.... everything else has been 83-87. At least with 250's...
I love reading these blogs, it always amazes me that bass boat owners love to go as fast as possible! (including myself) T/CAT can't wait to here what your boat is going to do.![]()
yeah i think T-CAT was right on with the 83-87...90 maybe with a completely empty hull and propped just right...

WD Brand has a 2200 with a 300 Yamaha that runs 92.

Now that I think about it, I believe that those may be modded 300s I'm thinking about, not stock. Not real sure though.

I believe WD'S has the mods done to his...from what i understand HE GIVES IT TO PEOPLE WITH THAT THING. i will be interested to see what mine does when I get it back to run it... I won't run it like that the first time back out... But I believe with a full load I will run 85. I had somethings change on mine, that I think will help out a lot... not to mention the prop...
I was running 81 at 5700 with a full tank, leak, and livewells, as well a 250 pounder in the boat with me... with the cone it is going to be good, or bad... im hoping for the good...
I have never ran that boat completely empty yet... but I honestly believe I can run upper 80's-i don't think 90 is out of reach either... even though that is a steep number, but to do it with a stock g is all i want to do...just for some bragging rights... but that will take nothing in that thing and less than a quarter of gas in it...
hope to find out soon...
I am rootin for you T-Cat I want to see you break 90 keep us posted I think you will like the coned lower. Who is doin it for you? My boat would ot do what it does if not for my Bob's nose cone.

The coned lower was already done before i bought it. I am excited to get it... i thought about adding the 300 heads to the engine, but i have already done too much damage to this thing with busting up lower units...
plus to tap 90 with a stock engine would be much more fun to talk about then with mods... lol so we will see.
whoooaaaaa, man if u broke 90 I would sh!t

so would i...
I don't expect to, but we will see.
everybody so anxcious to see how fast they can go,after 4 months of drought,at those speeds, you''ll hardly notice tearing off your lower unit, which by the way, will lower your top end speed ALOT!fella's,we don't live in minnesota,a drop of 2 ft, in florida exsposes all kinds of nasty objects underwater,BE VERY CAREFUL!!

I think 90 is possible with a 300X.......it is a very stout motor and Ally's, Bullets, & Strokers can do triple digits with the 300X. Very lightly rigged, half a tank of gas, I bet you could get 90 out of a 300X.![]()

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that it will run that good, but then again, who am I to judge? My estimate with a stock 2200 and a stock 300x would see mid 80's with a possible best at around 87 or so... and that would be on a good day.

A 300x in theory should break 90 plus a Lil more. Especially empty. I don't know if Willie has ran his empty. I Was running 87 with wd's 29 hydro. It would continuously run that at 6200/6300 which I always Thought was the soft limiter. I got it to exceed this twice to 6700. But no mph change. This was a 300 pm which was prolly not putting but 280/290 so I am told. The 300x's are know for putting 320's/325's. Especially the 2005 models which, Are/were the strongest. Big difference is weight the 300x is 460lb vs. The Yamaha 3.3. The Yamaha in phase III should be approx. 345/350 HP at the prop range. The yamaha will produce 20/30 more HP than the 300x but it will also weigh much more. And in an area that gamblers hate weight, the stern.
The gearcase Mini mods to the sporty made the boat handle better but I didn't notice any performance gain.

Tyler, with my xb I was running just under 84 at 6100 with a 27 tempest......."then it blew sky high".... I would be suprised if you break 85 without some " under the cowl work". I have tried everything. except a nose cone, which some people say slows them down.
Seems like I remember someone years ago hitting 87 with a 250 xb. Does anyone else recall that?
I think it was a 2100 too. Maybe around 2005 time frame. Also seems like it was done with an unconed tq master.
Other than that one I don't think I have heard of any 2100's with 250's breaking past 84/85.
A 250xb sent to Eric Simon should easily break 90 as it would be 335hp round 310/315 prop HP I think. A newer opti 250 pro xs with hydrotech's tuner, Eric Simons flywheel, and Eric's ecu program, and maybe a poppet diverter.(can't recommend running it all the time though). These mods yield around 290 at hydrotech if I remember right.
If factors are right, right setback, right prop and the right prop work, right driver and ran light as possible but the boat still has to be balanced! Would be knocking on 90's door.
