I love my Gambler but in the summer with 2 people and a full tourney load the holeshot SUX. I love the performance in cool weather or with just me in the boat, but I fish a few tourneys and it is kinda embarasing to ask your partner to go to the front deck to get the boat on plane. I have a 1994 Intimidator 19'3" with a stock 200 Merc EFI. Tried many props, 25 Tempest plus 24 Trophy, 26 chopper, 26 Hoss T-1, 25 trophy, 27 Trophy, and many others. The 27 trophy is the best winter prop and the 25 Tempest plus with extra PVS holes is the best summer prop, but no matter what I do with the PVS plugs this boat is a slug out of the hole. I have added a plate below the 6" Gambler jackplate. Have checked the motor inside and out. Good comp, good leakdown specs, and it runs fine. I know that poor loaded holeshot is a trait of the G-boats, but if I could improve mine a little it would be nice. Has anyone tried a "dole-fin, whale-tail". I hate the looks of those things, but I will try anything once.
