Auto parts, not the ones like auto zone. I go to the ones that actually have people working there that know what a boxed end wrench looks like. They can match it for you. NAPA is pretty good around here. We also have a company called Motion Industries that carry good quality bearings and seals.

i got mine from ameritrail. i won't do that again. they were not sure of the size my trailor had. so of course they sent the wrong size. also sent wrong parts. go to napa. you can get the seals and bearing there. just take some with you. also you will get a better brand. my ameritrail stuff was from somewhere i didn't even know exported stuff.

    Re: Bearings??? (trex)

Two times ago I bought straight from Ameritrail. I paid around $100 to redo all 4 hubs. This last time I had a bearing go out it messed up the hub and I went to a local boat dealer and they had the hub with the bearing greased and seals pressed in for around $40. I bought the whole package and just bolted on the new hub. Much easier. I have also bought bearings from Motion but they were crazy on prices. $50 for the bearings. And I had to go somewhere else for the seals. When I get home from work tomorrow I will get the numbers off the box with the hub sizes and post. I have a spare hub in the box in the garage. Mine was a 2000 trailer.

I upgraded my brakes a while back, my rear hubs/bearings are a different size than the front axle now.

you need to get them straight from ameritrail....
i had a 99 ameritrail, and AUTOZONE tried matching them...NEVER could...
after 2 weeks of trying to match/save money, i called ameritrail...3 days later had the right ones...and they're price wasnt bad at all...

I would guess that all you would need is to give Ameritrail the Vin #?

I wouldn't care how much they cost as long as they are american made or japanese made. Stay away from the cheep chinese bearings. Timkin or ntn bower bearings will last. Some times the ntn bearings are distributed by BCA bearing company or federal mogal. Carquest, Napa etc. You can probably get these at autozone or orilleys but you will have to be brand specific and they may have to order them for you. Don't settle for anything else.

I worked for my uncles independent auto parts store for a several years and then worked at NTN Bower for 8 years. Where we made the bearings for heavy equip. At the auto parts store we had to sell many brands to compete with the price that the other cheep azz autoparts stores sells. It isn't worth the hassle getting cheep junk. I wouldn't put them in something I was planning on selling tomorrow.
