I currently still have my 2004 520VX with 225 Opti and that 27 Tempest is way too much prop. I had a Croxton B&B 25P Tempest and 24 Fury and boat runs amazing and jumps out of the hole and runs 67-70 depending load and time of year. 3.5 below for Fury and 3.25 below pad for Tempest. The ride out of that boat is incredible and fishes and rides extremely dry!

I ran the same prop to pad on my boat. I'll add 2.75 for the Bravo 1 XS. BTW, my boat has a 6" Slidemaster manual jackplate.

That prop may not be optimal for the boats performance, but it should be able to "get out of it's own way." However, if you don't have the motor trimmed down on the holeshot you will get a lot of bow lift and just be plowing water for a few seconds. My boat is an 01 520VX with a 225 Yamaha. Trimmed down it hops up on plane in no time with very little bow lift. Trimmed up is a completely different story. Like I said, may be a dumb question but may also save you from buying a new prop if you didn't know about this.

You will love that boat btw! I know I love mine.
Yes I had it trimmed all the way down and couldn't get it to stop plowing until I trimmed up, and even then it was just barely enough. I shipped the prop out this morning and am going to trade the selling dealer for a Tempest Plus 25. Appreciate all the comments. I'll try to get a couple pictures loaded.

I have a 27p trophy on my 04 521 vx with a mercury 250 efi. Best GPS is 73.2 in calm water with 85 degree weather a few weeks ago. I am also running a 8" atlas jackplate
