    Johnson Fast strike 115

At the T this past Sunday, a friend of mine was putting his Ranger in water. He started the big motor to get it off the trailer and it worked fine. he shut it off as we were about 45 minutes from the start of the T. With 15 minutes to go before the T. he went to start the big motor and nothing. It would beep but not turn over. My partner and I went over to help, we jumped from the trolling batteries over to the crankin battery and still nothing. took the cover off tapped the starter and few times...nothing. it seemed to be getting power all the way to the motor as we could here things beeping and clicking. What should we check first....the starter???

Shake the shift handle back and forth while holding the key in the start position.

The same thing happened to me very recently (same motor)--the system beeped, the starter worked but the motor just would not turn over. Just wondering what effect shifting the throttle handle back and forth has...

The engine won't start in gear. The throttle handle can be in the neutral position but not trip the switch that tells it it's in neutral. Then the starter won't engage. I think it's an adjustment issue.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong......
