Don't know about flight but be easy on the trim when you get to the edge, had mine turn side ways around 80, was not a fun fealing the first time it happened. And if it does happen, don't drop the throttle.

I have a 1995 Intimidator PhaseIII 2.6 Yamaha all the goodies including Light Flywheel
266.7 HP on Dyno @ 6000 rpm
Bob's nosecone
77-79 mph tx loaded GPS
Medium holeshot
never close to blow over
27p Tempest Tuned and B&B
10" Bob's Hydaulic Jack Installed to the top of transom unlike the original fixed
I actually had problems w/ Blowout @ 74 MPH with stock lower unit
I love the Bob's lower handeleng is great and I can raise the motor to the sky and I gain speed till the prop is almost even W/ pad
Which I hear is not common w/ Gamblers but that is the way it is with mine.
I could not raise the 26 Tempest as high as the 27
I would love to see the numbers you guys see w/ your boats but I have been over 80 (83.4 gps) only once with a 29 trophy extra light by myself and perfect conditions.
What prop would help?

I think thats where they take a 28" trophy and make it 1" higher in pitch. I've heard they do this kinda stuff in custom prop shops![]()

Best i've ever had my outlaw has been 83 gps with a mild worked 225 promax, lighten forged pistons,(top pin)lighten and balance connecting rods, split sealing rings on crank, bored .026 over(bought it blowed up) intake and exhaust ports clean up, 4.5 lb flywheel 16 amp stator, heads were cut, running about 145 pounds on compression and a bobs nose cone with 1.87 gears turning a 28 over the hub four blade 6400 rpm... but now with the 250 xs,(lightend/balanced connecting rods, only mod so far) 1.62 gears and a sad old 26 trophy have had it to 80 gps @ just about 5600rpm before my buddy tapped out on the dash, can't wait to get the nose cone and torque tab and start dialing it in,,,,,,, loving the fuel economy of this optimax(taping on the gas gauge to make sure it still works) promax drank probly 5 times as much gas as this thing does.
but yeah we need to get a g boat group day set up here in fla. i'm always game
Jeff, you're not after Mike's prop moderator position are you![]()

The prop was a 28 trophy up pitched and B&B Thinned by Boat City Prop shop in OKC made into a 29" The hole shot was worse than terrible.
I guess that I should have noted that the prop had been modified as I do know that they dont make a 29 trophy I figured most would realize that it was modified.

My point was a 28 trophy is garbage to start with and pitching to a 29 would seem to make even less appealing..![]()

I tried a 28 trophy one time and it seemed like I had a 1:62 LU. I can say the same about a Mirage. Nothing exciting about top end and hole shot and mid range not good.
about time you started posting some old man....work must be getting slow....
