Need help with setup of my 1998 outlaw with a 150 EFI

My boat is not running like it use to and wondering if it could be the set up. First how do I measure engine height below pad. Second with a 10" manual jackplate and a 24p prop what would be a good starting point. How far below pad should the propshaft be and how do i measure this.

    Thanks

    Bobby

Try to level boat, put level on fin above prop and level. Then put level on the pad and measure from top of level to center of nose cone (or prop shaft). May be start at three inches and work your way up to be safe. Hope you have a water Gage. I have never owned a outlaw so maybe some one else will chime-in soon. You may be able to start at a higher point.

How long have you owned the boat and do you use seafoam or others?

I have own the boat for 2 years. Just had the computer tested and the enjectors tested. Own injecter came back bad. they reflowed it and it now runs a little better but still not what in seems it used to. I have never used seafoam or any related product. I have alway run 91 ethanol free gas with synthetic quick silver. That is what the guy ran in it when i bought it a I seen no reason to change. just checked engine height and it is 5 7/8 inches below very bottom pad. looks as if it is at the bottom of jack plate.

Thanks for the replys i need all the help i can get this is my first boat.

    Bobby

If you have not changed your setup it's going to be somewhere else, wish i could find good gas here. I run seafoam to help keep everything clean. Pulled my heads a while back and not a speck of carbon build-up. Prop needs to come up. Seems to be a lot of this going around this year. Just had my injectors cleaned, changed reed valves, had two over the max clearance, You may need to do a synchronizing of the EFI setup.

Well, I have a '97 Outlaw with a Merc 150 XR6 and I have a 6" manual jackplate and and 24p Predator prop. I have the engine mounted in the top hole, and it's as high as it will go in the jackplate. I have good performance from this set up. I do not know what the propshaft height is with this setup as I haven't measured it.

tell you what. i just raised the motor up to the last hole , i got one inch left on the jp, im gonna leave that right where its at. im 3 3/4 to 3 1/2 below the pad, and wow what a difference my hole shot is better and my top speed i gained 3 or 4 mph. water pressure still above 15psi. im glad i did that. i would try new things you never know
