    My New to me 2100

    1997 2100. 1999 ERude 225 28p Raker.

I KNOW I KNOW the motor IS CROOKED!

Can Anyone look at that jackplate and tell me if its the right on for the boat as far as setback?. Im STILL having a horrible time with the chine walking issue. It measures 6-7 inches setback. Thanks Kyle.

    Ozh and new truck also...

19 years old with a set up like that, He's doing something right. Nice.
Also has a nice video clip in his Biography.
I'm running a 10 inch offset and she'll still chime if I don't correct it but I am still working on the prop height and weight distribution.

Very nice Gambler Kyle. I read your bio and I wish you well in life, it looks like you have a very good start. Do you get to Champlain often?

Re: My New to me 2100 (bigGUNS04)

Thanks Guys . I bought it in Maine. Towed it all the way back . There is absolutely nothing wrong with the boat at all. Just drives worth SH**. 65-68mph it gets loose. tried and tried and tried to correct it..AND nothing helps... Ive tried full tank of gas, livewells full and my HEAVY buddy in the boat also... .Ive tried empty and I weigh about 160 . No difference at all. I was in Greencove by the way... SO anyone that wants to go out with me and show me how to drive it and set it up Id appreciate it... Im fully convinced it is more to do with setup than driver though.

I know that boat. It was sold new at swartizels marine in Ohio It was rigged with a 150 fast strike Johnson and a good friend of mine bought it. I helped cut the dash to fit that lowrance in. When he bought it they put that motor on and it was crooked then and it also had a different jack plate. It used to have around 10-12 inches of set back. The boat has been a 78-81mph in the past and don't really know who has had it sence my buddy sold it on e-bay but it looks like it did back in 1999. I also would think that hanging that motor stright would have to help. Good for you and I wish you luck.

Re: My New to me 2100 (YoungBassin)

Kyle, what is the height of prop to pad, what is your battery lay out, your rpm's.
These guys helped me a lot and the best advice they gave me was to not over trim. So I took her out and made a six mile run, started out with the nose digging in and bumped it up some, went to full throttle and started working the trim up slowly (mama was in the boat so I had to sneak it in ) Little by little I brought her up to about half trim on my gage. Running good and felt good but I was putting a little left hand into it. bumped a little more before I had to slow down for a boat I thought was going to cut in front of me. Two people-heavy load--3/4 tank--me 260# wife 120#---80.3 gps with a little left. I learned to drive it with a passenger and when I go by myself it wants to chime bad at 68-70 .Another bbc'er gave me a pointer to level the boat and then the motor and make a mental note of where the trim gage is so you'll know when you hit the water it should be running close to level at that mark. Another one said to put a level across the back of the boat with your gear, partner, everything that would normally be in it and see what the level reads and try to level it by shifting weight around.Lot of things to try. Get some seat time in it first.

This is my first boat I've had to chime walk but also the fastest, my first g-boat a 183 did not chime. The others were cookie cutter boats.

Re: My New to me 2100 (CRIMSONGAMBLER)

My friend just told me the dial for the jackplate ran best on 10 and to not over trim he also said it looked like the same jack plate but there used to be another part that was bolted to what is still there which gave it more set back than what it has now.

Re: My New to me 2100 (CRIMSONGAMBLER)

Same boast. I had it for sale because I had too many. 196 GT183, this one, a 1995 2100 and and an old bass tracker. 4 boats is just too many.,.. I figured this one would be the easiest to sell since its in such good condition. But I have since sold 2 others and Ill now be keeping it.

This is the same boat from ohio I still have the Ohio title to it. The guy thast bought it from ohio was from Maine and thats where I bought it from. Im glad to know a little of the history on the boast any and all past information is greastly appreciated.

I just bought my dad a 2100 and his came with a fixed plate which I think is more appropriate for the boat.

The motor is not actually crooked The steering is just off a tad bit.

Im not sure of the prop height I have wednesday off and im going to measure everything up.
