Make sure you are loosening the correct screw. The manual release screw is accessed through an opening in the right side of the engine mounting bracket.
You can see the white looking flat head screw through the side of mount.
Thank you for the picture, that is the screw we loosened and removed. Live and learn if it ever happens again we will know not to remove it.
