    Trim Tab Failure

How many of you have had trim tab failure? Water coming out of the seal...lots of noise. How difficult is it to change out?

The worst part about removing one of mine was it had about 1/2 a tube of silicone holding it in.

My boat is two years old. How long did your trim tabs last?

I just had one go out I called Lenco with the info , They asked me which boat and year model it was on.. She said I will get you one out today at no charge..
She was right it didn't cost me anything..
They are very simple to change..

Same here. Lenco sent an actuator. Changed it last night. Worried if it will trim at the same rate as the other one.

Once I installed the new one I re-attached the tab but didn't tight it all the way.. I then cycled it up and down and measured from the tab to the boat to make sure both were the same.. The piston shaft is adjustable by screwing it in or out to get the tabs adjusted the same..
Mine operate at the same rate... No problems with that..

The new actuator I installed lasted about 1 hour. It would not retract all the way up and would not free spin at the top. The actuator would stop and hum instead of free spin.

Lenco sent another one promptly and it is installed.

Thanks for the tip on the turning the shaft to adjust length. Did not realize that.

All day on the water with the new actuator. No problems. The new actuators run quieter than the original ones. The trim tabs are one the best features on a Gambler.

Just had the left hand actuator go bad. Replaced under warranty. Only had to pay for labor to install.
