I'll take as many as you can get at that price, with what ever motor.
It can be a 21' "Dale Earnhardt Intimidator", which would make the deal even better.

If you belong to a credit union that would be a start. Try to go as short of term on the loan as possible. 8% or lower is what you are shooting for with a used boat loan. There are other options, like an equity loan, but I do not tie toys to mortgage debt.

I do belong to a credit union... How short is it too short of a loan, from the research i have done it seems like the average loan is about 15 years? is that about the average size of the note? thanks again

that's pretty average but you can go as short as you want just have a higher payment. Also bank of america has a specialty division for things like boats, I don't have an account with them but got my boat loan through them at a descent rate.

two ways to look at a boat loan, most boats do not gain value.
1. short loan term, high payment
2. longer term, smaller payment.
If I were to take option 2, I would pay extra on the principal to the point of what I could afford. If you had a tight month your mandatory boat payment would be low.
Just remember with the longer term you will need to make the extra payment to keep the loan in your favor, and not get up-side down on boat value.

I went to the bank today...their loan avaliable for a boat was 144 mos. at 8.25%. Tomorrow I am going to the credit union to check what they have to offer![]()

Do you own a home? If you do you can get a home improvement loan or a home equity loan. You dont have to declare what youll use the loan on and you can write some or all of the interest off on your income tax. Just another option..Good luck![]()
