    '96 209 and prop question

I run a 24 pitch trophy with a 225 promax. With me and my dad it is slow out of the hole and our top end is only around 70. The elevation is at 3405 ft, and we have no humidity here. Also, i went to Tyler, texas where the elevation is in the 500's and got to 76 when it started walking, but it was just me in the boat, but my hole shot wasnt super fast. I guess my question is, is how are yall running 27's and 28's

i dont think you will find many running a 27 or 28 pitch prop on a 209 with the 225...a 25 tempest or trophy is the standard for that rig down here...
i am sure glad i dont have to deal with all that elevation junk....
and i think i would move to tyler....

I have a 97 promax that was rebuilt in 2000 and has a label on it that list it at a max of 6500 rpm. It looks like a factory label from merc.

lower the jack plate and tuck the trim allllllllllllll the way down............ ........made my hole shot much better, and mine's just a 200 running a 25 predator, hole shot is better with the 26 raker but it's too wild a prop at top end for this fat boy

I always have it trimmed down all the way, but with the jackplate down, i would lose top end right?

I wonder how you keep blades on that trophy lol. Mine came with one and i cracked a blade almost all the way off on the first trip out. then put a new one on and put a tiny crack on the edge of one blade first trip out. Then after being told by my dealer that it'd be ok to run it very slow for one day till i could get it by and let them look at it. never got over 2000 rpm and put a tiny crack in another blade. Luckily merc gave them credit after sending them my prop and I got my money back and bought a txp and haven't had anymore problems thank God!
