    Jackplate on a gambler.

I was going to install a diffrent jackplate on my 95 Intimidator a couple weeks ago. After I took the factory 6 in" plate off I seen that the bolt pattern on the boat was diffrent than the one on the new rappid jack plate. Why does Gambler do this? I had to redrill the holes in the plate for it to fit. What could have been a 1 hr job turned into a 3 hr job.

That's a surprise, I would have thought that they'd match up perfectly. I know that my 2100 has 6 bolts in it with the Bob's hydraulic and most jackplates have the standard 4 holes but I would have thought that the pattern would be the standard pattern.

the bolts in the boat were a square pattern. and the plate was offset. in other words an outboard of any kind wouldn't bolt to the hull without a plate on it

You are right, I put out a post about the same issue a while back. My 183 had the CORRECT bolt pattern, but the 94 I picked up was the square pattern. I had to use the original manual Gambler plate as a template to mark the holes on the new plate. My guess is the newer boats transom stringers(or whatever they are called) are in the way of the standard bolt pattern,so they had to change the bolt locations. I didnt call Gambler, but they might be able to supply a print-out of the bolt pattern to customers that are changing out jackplates.

If they are swapping to a Bobs then the bosses are already there to drill the holes so it will fit the Gambler.

I just bought a Bobs 10" plate and it is drilled for the standard pattern but the bosses are there to make it work with the Gamblers, Sterlings, and Shearwaters.
