I'd like to try a bigger pro et. I was going to play with my 30 on topend sunday while carring a full fishing load and full fuel. I ran it up to 83 or so on my way back and my rpms were too high (6500) and I was at 1 1/2 below I ended up having to drop to about 3 below to reduce the rpms to 6100. Then i noticed I had blew the pass seat out of the boat sometime and didn't know it. I had to run back up and look for the seat, after running about 10/12 miles at 25 mph I finally found it. Apparantly the screw had worked loose and out she came.
At that point I gave up and went home. I have had the 30 to 85 at 5900 before on a 1/4 mile short run. But haven't really tried for top speed with it. Dunno what had gotten in to the merc but she was turning some rpm. Maybe its the new alysin oil I am running?? I was really hoping to bust 90 oh well maybe later.
