My E-tec 200HO just went over the 10 hr mark. I asked the local dealer to switch it to the TCW-3 setting while the boat was in for some minor warranty work.
So, when I go to pick the boat up, they tell me it's a $70.00 charge to change the setting!!
It costs $70.00 to remove a cowling, plug in a laptop, and push a button!!
I don't mind paying a reasonable charge for services rendered, but this is a bit overboard...
Not trying tobut the equipment thay use is not free nor there time.
I just think back to when we would have to change an Prom in an ECU would pay
45.00 just for the updated prom and that was in 1988

Flat rate time for a emm update is 1/2hr.
Wasn't it in for warranty work and more than likely they would have been hooked up to check everything out anyway? Also wasn't that one of the updates that came down to get them off of the XD-100 setting so they don't go pop? What I'm getting at shouldn't that have been done for free or part of an update, warranty or recall?? Just asking cuz I would have blew my lid if were me.
