there isnt going to be a whole lot more to get out of your rig....but it will blow out...with no warning...my best with my xb was 85.3...bob felt he could get 90 with the test rig he ran...but it was bare boat only, and the lower unit couldn't handle it....

Mike Great Speed......the trophy normally doesn't run as high as some of the larger diameter props, so it would be tougher to blow out.........but you might be in for a ride if you hit pockets of rougher water. I'v blown out a few times at 83 and it wasn't to bad.
Willie.........what actually happened when you blew them out? Scares the crap out of me to even think about blowing out a prop at 83 mph.![]()
Thats smokingI will e-mail you my address so you can send the prop for verification purposes

Al, the stern suddenly kicked 2-3 feet to the left when it blew out and I responded by letting up on throttle and steering. I hooked a little but it would have been much worse if I were in a turn with rougher water. I did it 3 times in row while testing a prop on straight runs, each time at 83- 83.1. Note: When testing new props one should get comfortable in straight runs before taking turns a higher speeds. JMHO
WD, did you blow out with the HPDI lower unit or was this a different motor?

The blow out was with an 04 250XS. I have yet to blow out with the HPDI.......I've had her 91 in a straight run with moderate chop.
