Is the 2D OK if you aren't recording? It'd probably be a good idea to start a new thread about it since this thread is for Autochart.
......Or are you saying that the 2D is screwed up when recording with Autochart?

I'll start a new thread as Autochart Pro, so the physical software is working. It's when I turn on Onix sonar recording that my 2d freaks out. It's fine when I'm in Autochart live or when Autochart live is off. 2d goes crazy only with Sonar recording on. I want to use my data in Autochart Pro, but something in the Onix is happening.
Hello. Hooked 1198 to my laptop. Turned on the Auto Chart Live". How to make the screen of my laptop was drawn lines of the depths ? To work as onix. Thanks
To setup to view live data,

I just recently loaded auto chart pro on a second computer. I have copied the LkMaster folder from the zero card to my hard drive. I have also adjusted the setting to look on my PC and not the zero cards for the files. Here is my issue. When opening the PCI program, I do not see the world map, region maps or the lake outlines. The main screen is white. I am able to create maps using recorded files but the update lake master icon is greyed out so I can not finalize the process.
anyone experience the base maps not showing when the PC program starts? It works fine on my other PC.
Problem resolved - Needed to update video drivers.
Have an 1199 and planning to buy Autochart Pro soon to map some 100-200 acre local lakes. Question I have is before I get the software when I am out fishing these lakes can I record while fishing to my SD card and use that data as a start to map the lake when I get the Autochart Pro?
Yes. That's precisely what I did. I had been saving sonar recordings and tracks to an SD card, and saving those files on my computer long before AutoChart was released. All of those files imported into AutoChart just fine once I decided to buy the program.
One thing I always do, even when making sonar recordings, is I make sure to save the current track before I shut off the unit. That way, if something happened with my sonar recording where it didn't save correctly, I have a backup plan to use the hummingbird track file. Make sure to save the current track before you shut off the depth finder though, otherwise the depths won't be saved, just the coordinates.
Recorded my last trip, saved the track before shutting down. Question is what files do I need to save from the SD card to my laptop to use in the future when I get the AutoCart software?

does the record need to be done from the side imaging transducer to get the 3d view from the program or can i just record from the thru hull 2d puck?
The only thing AutoChart uses the side imaging transducer for, is the SI mosaic. It uses the 2D sonar for all depth data.
Think of it this way, the depthfinder can only log the depth directly under the boat, it cannot 'calculate' depth off to the sides of your boat. The way you get a 3D view of the lake bottom, is to make multiple passes through an area in order to generate depth data for a widespread area.
so if i record from the unit with the side image transducer is there any benefit over recording from the unit that just has the 2d shoot thru hull transducer when transferring the data to the autochart software?
If you want the mosiac you need the SI data. If not it makes no difference what unit has a 2D crystal to generate depth readings.
It can be a 2D only, a DI unit or a SI unit. When you record the unit creates Track Points as it draws the Track on the Chart View. Each Track Point has the Depth and Location. That is what is used create the contour lines.

If I am running a 360 on the bow is the SI transducer on the trolling motor still collecting the data for SI while I am displaying the 360 view?
I'm confused. I read you have to have a zero line card to down load your chart to when you record on lakemaster live. So that's 2 cards to buy to make your own maps?
Yes, you are confused. No, you don't need to buy two ZeroLines cards.
There is no such thing as Lakemaster live.
AutoChart Live is built into Humminbird Onix depthfinders, and if you want to build a lake map containing more than the 8hrs of memory built into the head unit, then you will need to buy one ZeroLine SD card and tell the Onix to save the map to that instead of internal memory.
For those of us using AutoChart Pro on the computer for our mapping, most of us save our sonar recordings to a regular SD card, and transfer those to our home computer at the end of the day. Then use the AutoChart program on our computer to process that data and send the map to the ZeroLine SD card.
Camo I may be wrong but if there is a Si transducer on the TM wouldn't it continue to collect data? The data you are seeing from the 360 is coming through the network. Your main problem would be major crosstalk between the two being that close.
I don't have an Si transducer on the bow but my console units continue to ping the Si on the stern........

I'm really not sure, since I don't have a 360 transducer.
In when you select transducer, do you have to select either 360 or SI transducer? Or another way to find out, would be to page through your various screens. Can you see a 360 imaging on one view, and page forward a few more to see a side imaging view?
You're probably right fishfood.
