    Oxygenators installed

I installed two Aqua Innovations Oxygenators yesterday one in each well. Not hard to do at all. I had these in my Prior boat and saved a many a fish that would of never survived. I used the dual models rated for tanks up to 30 gals. I will be honest I wouldn't have a boat without Oxygenators they really are worth the money.

I've been thinking about doing the same. What did the parts cost you? Did you run them to two different switches one for port and one for starboard side livewells?

    Re: Oxygenators installed (IBFISHIN)

I bought mine at Mid TN marine for about 80.00 each shipped cheapest place I could find anywhere it just took about a month before I receive them. Good price just way to slow to ship. You do not need any switches they are water activated and they also have a temp sensor so the warmer the water the more oxygen they produce. Comes with everything you need to hard wire or for portable use alligator clip. All you need to do is determine where you want to put them in your livewell and where you want the wire run and bore a 5/16 hole for the wire. I used Marine GOOP to adhere mine to the side of the livewell about 2" up from the bottom about a third of the way up from the back and sealed the hole for the wire inside and out with Marine GOOP. Crimp the terminal rings on hook them to the Battery roll up the extra wire and zip tie and your ready to go. The models I have has a green light to let you know they have power and are working.

I can take some and email them to you I have tried about 10 times to post pics with Shutterfly and I just can't get it to work. If someone came and sit down and showed me how one time I would get it. I just can't get it to work even following directions. But I can email them all day long.

    Re: Oxygenators installed (ldbass55)

I can Honestly say without any hesitation they work.. Or at least they did in my last two Rangers, I had several fish that went belly up from a deep hook and bleeding badly go in the Well and after they had been in there for about five minutes or so they were as lively as the other fish and everyone of them swam away just as good as the rest of the fish... Fish like this wouldn't make it prior to the Qxygenators. Just follow the instructions which are simple and you will not only save fish but have the most lively one's at the weigh-in.

Thanks cowtrimmer now to get all three on one post and I will be doing good. They have a big single unit they are very expensive and for tanks up to 50 gals I think but they require a big hole to be cut in the livewell and would be way over kill on the Gambler livewells.

    Terry,
Do you ever fish brackish or saltwater? If you do, I would install a switch for power to the units. Those Oxygenators make chlorine when activated is brackish or salt water. Just a heads-up.

I put in a set and found that you still need to ice the water down here or you will still kill fish. The water down here is so hot in summer it just won't hold oxygen. Do not use any chemical treatments with these as they all contain salt and as stated above, then you're making chlorine gas.
I took the livewell lights out of my boat and wired the units to the existing wiring, that way, theres already a switch on the dash.

    Re: Oxygenators installed (JAZII)

I don't fish any brackish water at all. I really haven't had any problems but then again we have some of the best water in the country in the four states I fish. NC,SC,GA.TN...... I just know they have saved fish and my fish will be livelier than anyone's at the weigh-in. Maybe it was those Ranger livewells systems that did it all.
