BWB
Bass & Walleye Boats magazine is awesome this month. Great article on steering. Did you know hydraulic steering should be bled every year? Great article on Chine Walk and a great point on propeller choice and high speed handling. Also, a great little clip on people who post set-up responses on Internet web-sites and don't have a clue as to what the heck they're talking about. Much of the information can actually be dangerous if taken seriously. Yes BWB (so they say) reads these web pages. It sure would be great if they had a TV show. The other great magazine is Power Boat magazine if you want to learn about boat care and boat maintenance (not engine).

Re: BWB (FishNH)
sandy.... i too love reading some of the articles in BWB....but i wouldn't say that everything they print is true either....about 90 percent of the setups they write about are never acheived in the REAL WORLD...and they are real quick to print articles about how to boost the HP on your yammie.... but dont say that it voids your warranty, or that its illegal... the truth is, that a set up that may run a 100 mph for a guy like paul nichols, might run 80 mph for someone like me or you...thats why i love all the info on the internet...it lets YOU find the setup that is right for your personal skills..what is good for me.... might suck for you....the mag is great, but dont think everything they print is the way it is... there are too many variables....

Re: BWB (ldbass55)
LD, I have to agree with you 99.9%, their drivers are pro's and most all their set-ups are done by factory rep's, trained to do the set-up correctly. All I am saying is I love their features and what they point out in them. If a bass boater is looking for a magazine with some pretty good articles in it, BWB is a great mag. I found the January issue on Steering 101 and the article on curing chine walk great. Its not just seat time, seat time, seat time as so many of the guys on the Internet seem to post every time someone mentions chine walking. Heck some of the guys think its chime walking. I thought the article was very informative on propeller choice, bleeding your steering, balance, engine height, solid mounts, setback, etc. and how it affects handling. I also agree there are many variables and I think you are saying what I am saying, the mag is great, the best I have found for a bass boater. I also love all the info on the Internet, that's why I spend far too much time on it. But, that other .01% I agree with BWB, some of the stuff guys post on the Internet is by what they point out, "newies" and some of the stuff that gets posted could be down right dangerous like trying to drive through chine walk........ Did I mention Power Boat magazine

Re: BWB (FishNH)
I don't ussually post on the Gambler board but "powerboat magazine SUCKS!"
How long has it been since they have featured an outboard powered boat? Let alone a bass boat.
I used to subscribe when I was in high school in the 80s, great mag then now its just for the super rich.

I mentioned the magazine because, it goes into several page depth on how to care for your boat with articles such as; gel coat, boat detailing, leather care, vinyl, installing sound systems, etc.
And, some awesome boat graphics.
I don't sell magazines, but here on the Gambler board we seem to talk about 2 things, prop's and our boy, Levy Ben. I thought I'd add a little more flavor to the forum.
Have a great day

Re: BWB (FishNH)
LD I'm not tiring to start an argument here, (just a friendly discussion)
but I just got my February 2006 BWB mag. You said <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> and they are real quick to print articles about how to boost the HP on your yammie.... but don't say that it voids your warranty, or that its illegal...</TD></TR></TABLE> On page 59 the very first paragraph. in the article Raging Bull it says "Just like with our last Yamaha hop-up ("Maximus Performance," August 2005), we must state the standard disclaimers: Hotrodding any outboard produced and sold in 1998 or thereafter is illegal, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws passed in 1997. These laws basically prohibit the modification of any outboard engine so as to alter its emissions output, with the exception of those outboards used strictly for competition. In other words, "Don't try this at home," yada, yada, yada.... So why do we (and Hydro-Tec, as well as others) do it? Consumer demand...... I thought they explained it rather well - its all love LD
I completely agree that 90 percent of the setups they write about are never acheived in the REAL WORLD without guys like Paul do the set-ups, but I still think its a great mag for the bass boater to learn some neat stuff from.
And they keep printing that same 3 year old picture of that blue and yellow Bullet for Lou to drool over.

I know Ben, I have way too much time on my hands. Especially when you're in Florida, the winds blowing 30 mph and there's freeze warning out
