    Help with a potential problem

    I have a 1997 Johnson Venom 200. I have noticed that the last two times out, the water pressure guage is going whacky. At low speed it will show about 5-15 psi. As I get up to speed, it will burry the needle off the guage. Is this a guage problem or something inside the motor? Is this leading up to a potentially huge problem? How do I fix this?

    What pound gauge? These moto's run a high wp.

    Try this pull your cowl and find your pressure gauge line, then disconnet the gauge line and blow some air down the line and see if you don't blow out some sludge. Then hook the motor side back up, run it on the muffs with the gauge side un-connected and "tach it up" a few times, nothing over 2k and see if more junk don't come out. Also with both ends disconnect put a golf T in the gauge side and listen for air leaks. My 200 pushes about 30lbs trimed down then when on the pad and trimed right at about 18-20. I could lower the motor 1/4 and push the H20 back up almost pegged on a 30 psi gauge. CM
