    What am i missing here?

Finished installing both 70dvs and gcv10 box, need to update the units as they they are still running 3.0 or 3.7. I put in the canada hd ultra card and let it update as it said to do but when i zoom in to any lakes i am not seeing 1 foot contour lines am i missing something here?

Not all lakes have the 1 foot contours. If you go and check out simcoe and the muskoka's I think they do but alot of the lakes still don't as Garmin has not surveyed them up here. I am still using the g2 along with the lakevu for here.
I need to check out a few more to see what ones do
Special thanks to my sponsors- Team Daiwa, Garmin Electronics, Gill Technical Fishing, Bass Magnet Lures, and Upper Canada Marine.

Are you (and do you have to) leaving the card in the unit. Mine is not the same model as yours, but requires the card to stay in.

If you absolutely don't need to update your units, which many people don't unless there is a problem that the newest updates fix, you can still run Navionics SonarCharts for Garmin charts. These have 1' contours out to 80' and they have a tremendous amount of data in Canada.

This is a great option, but again, Garmin locked out Navionics cards in software updates from Jan 1st 2015, but if it has previous software you are good to go.

You can see the detail of their SonarCharts (little blue sonar icon on bottom left of page when zoomed in) on their WebApp, and also see if the lakes you are interested in are covered:
