how do you keep water OUT of your live wells? I put the selector to the "fill" position like the instructions state but I still get water in them. I don't fish tournaments and practice "catch and release" so I don't need water in them.

Try switching the selector knob to "recirc". That should keep the water out. If not, I suspect the water is coming in through your drain. You can always put a plug in your livewell drain to make sure the water stays out.
That is the anwer -- a transom plug in the drain hole.
I will try the "recirc" position next time out. Cant put a plug in b/c there is a wire mesh cover over drain hole. Thanks

I always keep mine in "recirc" position when not using it. It makes sense to me that it would be the position to keep water out with.
Recirc is the way to go... if you are still getting water in, in the Recirc position, your valve may not be shutting all the way allowing water to seep in. Sometimes this is caused by fish scales or slime building up in the valve. There are two ways to help with with... first, you can take a water hose and spray it through the drain in the livewell. Second, you can try filling your livewell with bleach water and then letting it out slowly to help remove the slime from the valves. If you do this, make sure you rinse your livewell out thoroughly before you use it as the bleach can harm your fish.
The plastic screens you are referring too should pop off which would allow you to use a plug if you want to try it.

Thanks, I may go out to the storage facility this weekend to look at it.
