GPS MAP 78s

Hi guys,

I recently bought a Garmin GPS MAP 78s and am ashamed to say other than turning it on and seeing that it actually found where I was at the time, I really haven't had time until now to delve into all it's fine features.

My question: Can anyone recommend any good sites for freeware maps of lakes? I figured I could do a google earth and get some general coordinates to put as waypoints on the lakes I fish and then mark them when I actually locate them on the lake, but it would be nice to have some specific maps without paying as much as I did for the unit.

I myself don't know of any free maps but you can load the garmin maps into it. The 78's are a nice little handheld for marine and i know quit a few guys that carry them up here in Canada for back country fishing.
