Go Sun Devils!
The 250 XB is an EFI engine. It's a very strong engine but it does use a lot of gas and oil. (Love the low rumbling sound that engine makes).
IMO, the 250 PRO XS is a better all-around engine. It has direct injection, is quieter, and uses considerably less gas and oil. If memory serves me, I believe the XS delivers the best mpg of any outboard engine.
If I had my choice it would be the Pro XS.![]()

I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
I would go with a 250 HPDI due to the added trim angle they have. I believe they will be faster on a Cobra. Go with an SHO if you can afford it. This is coming from a guy who has a 225 ProXS.
Thanks for the advice. Ended up going with a 225 PRO XS. Could NOT pass on this one. Only 37 hrs. and 5 year warranty.
Good choice...I think thats what i'm going with next..
That's what I have and there is nothing wrong with it at all. I see 75 in winter and 73 in the Summer loaded to fish with a 25 Trophy.
