I just wanted to let you know that Backlash's wife fell down a flight of stairs and hurt herself REAL BAD. From what I hear, many broken bones and some surgeries to get her up on her feet again. You and Blanche are in my prayers Larry.

Thank you all for your concern and we appreciate all the prayers.
Just a quick overview so as not to bore everyone will the details. Yes, my wife fell down a flight of 15 steps that leads to the lower family room and injured herself pretty bad. She broke both ankles, also shattered the heel bone (cacaneous) in her left foot, broke her left wrist (she's left handed), broke one finger and severely dislocated two others. She had surgery this past Friday and will have another to rebuild her left ankle as soon as the swelling goes down enough to allow additional surgery. We're thankful, because it could have been even worse.

Folks, here's the latest update. My wife had her second surgery yesterday. As eluded to earlier, during her first surgery they repaired her broken rt. ankle, broken left wrist, broken left finger and put back in place her 2 severely dislocated fingers, but couldn't do anything about her left foot / ankle until the swelling went down. On this second surgery the Doctor totally reconstructed her left foot / ankle and said it was in the top three of any foot / ankle injuries that he's seen. Many broken bones with scattered fragments throughout her foot, a splintered heel bone, and badly broken left ankle. She now has a metal plate, rods, pins and screws holding it together along with having some synthetic bone grafts help will help build up the foot. Pretty nasty stuff.
I knew rehab was going to be a lengthy ordeal....maybe 3-4 months (or so I thought) but was informed by the P.T. yesterday that it would be more like 6-7 months due to the severity of the left foot / ankle injury.
Was told she'll probably be in the hospital another 4-5 days before being moved into a P.T. facility.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers....
When the going gets to tough for everybody else, it's just right for me!![]()

Been gone for the last week and just read the updates Larry. She had some serious injuries and I hope that she fully recovers. The rehab will be long and stressful I suspect but she will get through it and be back to her old self.
Just a quick update: My wife went to the acute rehab facility on Sunday afternoon where they made her a specialized cast for her right ankle which allowed her to put minimal weight on it; along with a special walker with a trough on the left hand side where she could rest her foreman and put whatever weight needed on it to keep all weight off the left foot/ankle. Today was her first day with the rehab doctors/specialists. Having been in bed for 11 days, she got a little light-headed when they first got her up. Today's session was to see what she could or couldn't do and then the doctors/therapists were going to develop a specialized program for her. More than likely she will be in the acute rehab center for about 2 more weeks, or until she can perform the tasks that they will have outlined for her. Initial estimates by the P.T.'s--looks like recovery will be about 8 months!![]()
