    Why do people steal?

So a good buddy of mine called me this morning, "hey man, ready to go try to catch some bass?" Of course I answered yes and immediately went to go assemble all my rods and tackle boxes to go meet him at the boat ramp. Well where all of my rods and tackle used to lay was an empty spot that made my heart drop. Someone has stolen all the bass fishing items I've spent hard earned, tax paying, American money on. Bass fishing, especially competitive bass fishing is my favorite hobby in the whole world, and someone ripped thousands of dollars of that favorite hobby right off of my property yesterday while I was gone to work. I was devastated when I found out this morning. My neighborhood has no reputation for crime. I just don't understand. And they only took my fishing stuff. Ugh. Sorry guys. Just had to share with someone.

Sorry to hear. Alot of times the stealing is funding a drug habit. The other times it's people too lazy to work hard for nice things.

Call the pawn shops in your area and see if any fishing equipment was brought in.

Yep check pawn shop , they probably gave the dope head about $50.00 for your expensive equipment, they know it's stolen , most all pawn shops are legal fences .

That sucks, but I do think that your homeowners might cover it, I know someone who went through the same thing and his insurance picked it up. I hope it works out for you

People steal because they have no morals and its easier than earning money via a job that requires more effort. Walking off with thousands of dollars worth of stuff is way easier than working a minimum wage for a couple months, wouldn't you agree?

I've had several rods and reels stolen over the years. I now have everything insured, photo-inventoried, and always locked up and out of sight.

    drugs

Sorry to hear your loss. My guess is someone in your neighborhood or a contractor has a heroin addiction. They will steal and sell anything for their next high.

DONT CALL THE LOCAL PAWN SHOPS!!! Go in yourself and look for your equipment. If the pawn shops know it is stolen they will not tell you over the phone that they have had stuff brought in. When my house was broken in I found some of my stuff in a pawn shop and they said they had had it for months. I called the police and when they arrived the pawn shop caved and told us who brought it in. Do your own investigation if you can because some of the pawn shops are legal fences, as a previous poster said!
