This is one of the reasons that I own the Allison. I have it sitting on an aluminum trailer that measures 90 1/2 inches wide. I back it into the side of the garage that is two spots deep. With an 8' foot door, I would be hard pressed to have a trailer wider than I already have.

You want 10' to leave the possibilities open

My 18'6 Phoenix with a 8 inch jackplate almost completely fills a 21.5 foot garage. I take the boat in via the double door entry and hand move it into the single bay. My prior boat was 19'6 with no jackplate and took slightly more room but worked. So for a 19'6 I would think you want at least 23 but I would error for 24. For a 20 footer I would think 25 or 26.

Almost no modern mass market construction I have seen goes above 24 and 21.5 would be slightly bigger the normal. This I based on 4 houses in 3 states.

Don't forget your doors. I had 3 single bays on my home. A retired builder was able to knock a non- load bearing wall and make me into a big 2 door garage plus my small single bay.

20 ft boat you need to be 30' deep and at least 10' wide.
