    CMC 7050 actuator brushes

    I was surprised to find that CMC does not sell replacement brushes for the 7050
    actuator in my jackplate and didn't have an alternative part number. They will gladly sell me a new actuator, but, all mine needs is new brushes. I was wondering if anyone knows of a suitable alternative brush set or the manufacturer of the electric motors in these CMC actuators ? I am sure CMC did not build these electric motors so the brushes must be out there ...

    Starter or alternator shop should be able to make you some ..

    Or even have some on the shelf to match. I can't tell you the number of times I have pulled a 12 volt starter motor apart to find the brushes are worn out and went to the local starter shop and they had a matching set on the shelf.
