Im looking to buy a boat with this motor does anyone know anything about it?
Specificly what the compression should be as they will do a compression test in front of me because it is to cold to test drive it?

Good motor 2.7 Liter anywhere between 90-100 would be acceptable. Biggest thing is you want them all to be within 15% of each other. BTW welcome to the boards.
Actually the 2.7 were 86' and 87' went to 3.0 in 88'. 90-100 is correct.![]()
Is it a good motor anything to watch for or change right away?
thanks
If the motor has been maintained correctly, you will get many more years of service from it. They have plenty of low-mid torque. Get a service manual, it will pay for it self very quickly. Great motors. Recommended RPM is 5000-6000, prop for 5800-6000 and it will live longer, especially with todays fuels.![]()
