    Chargers new 195

I just got off the phone with Jim Hughes at Charger, they are bringing back the 195
It will be the same boat as the early models.Jim said they have had a ton of request to build it again. They are going to offer it at a special price Charger built these for some 15 years and was one of the best selling boats around here .For you guys that have never been in or seen one, they were by far the best riding boat you could buy.Tons of storage (big deep rod boxes)with removable deck insert.94 inch beam and 19'3' long.Deep seating and big consoles ,just a blast to drive. With a 200 pro xs you should see speeds around 70 to 75.You can call Martys marine if your in Mo. or Charger direct and get a price on them(lots of options to pick from).Heres some ofthe options
Ill have better pics these wil show for now

This is a pic of the 6 series boats ,the deck layout is a little different .But the 195s layout is still very nice.

Do you know if Charger has or has ever offered a flats/bass boat? If they were to come out with a model that had a non skid deck instead of carpet I'd probably buy a Charger again.

I'd say call Joe. They might be able build what you want based on the current models if non-slip flooring is the main issue.

From my talks with Joe you can get things pretty much any way you want them. If he can make it work he will.

If you guys want to know about the 195 get ahold of Charger shawn 195 on here he has one and loves it.We have had that thing in some of the nastiest water around and it is amazing the ride it has.And yes you can run wide open and that 195 will cut the waves. It actually has a little better ride than the 496 and 596.Its a 18 degree dead rise at the rear which is a little more than the 496 and 596.

I have a 99 195 vtf and the ride is second to none...it really is amazing how fast you can go in the nasty stuff...i have put bigger boats of other brands to shame when the lake gets rough

Re: Chargers new 195 (TOUCH OF CLASS)

Had a 195 and it was a great boat but I like the room in my 396. That being said, I wished I would have held out for a 596. When I got the 396 I lived in the DFW area. Now that I moved to west Texas I could use a little longer boat. Dang wind blows out here all the time.

    Re: Chargers new 195 (Stompy)

Ya ,Stompy the 596 will out ride just about any thing out there when the winds start blowing,it was designed for the most extreme conditions you will find.It has one of the best lay outs on a bass boat you can get. That second boat pic is a 595/596.
That 22 footer will get up on top of the waves and just beg for more
I have been in some real nasty stuff and its amazing you can just tear the wind blown waves up.Most guys will come in and say dam its rough out there,I just laugh.
The 195 has a nice layout,it could be a tad wider at the front seat, but it is plenty wide for most.I asked them if they were going to make it wider and they said no,this way we can keep the price down .It will make a good entry level boat or for somebody that wants a new rig at a good price.

Re: Chargers new 195 (TOUCH OF CLASS)

If I could sell my 396 and not take a beating on it, I would buy a 596 in a heartbeat. I was impressed with the Phoenix boats till I had one park next to me on the boat ramp. Think I'll stick with the Charger. Sure wish I had a dealer close. There is a dealer in Ft. Worth but he doesn't have any in stock. He is a ski boat dealer and can order a Charger. Closest one to me is Duncan OK, 155 miles away. Sure would like to get a good look at a 596 in person.

    Re: Chargers new 195 (Stompy)

Phoenix ,I have looked at them hard and just dont see what all the hoopla is all about,I wont trade my Charger for one.Untill guys ride in one and see the difference they wont know what we are talking about.
I know the dealers are far and few ,but the way I see it if the boat breaks than the dealer has nothing to do with anyway,it will go back to the factory,if its a gauge or electronics than the manuf. will cover that.
And with the dealer stories you here on BBc I will do the work myself on the little things. And any dealer will work on the motor.

    Stompy,

I'll probably be down in TX again next year with my 596. If you don't get a close look before then maybe we can meet up and you can take a spin around Fork in mine.
