Does the tank go under seats? Looking at it appears not to.

I wish to bore a hole in the front of the seats in the base and wish to know before I get into a mess.

I am talking about the area that the grab handle was factory installed to the left of the center seat near the floor.

I would mount it on the floor, in the center of the cockpit with really long screws.

I got nothing Butch, been a couple years since I was in a 183. Maybe remove screws for the grab handle and stick a wire in there and see what you hit?

I actually took my gas tank out to install pumpout on my livewell. The gas tank most definately does not go under the seats. What you can see of the gas tank is exactly how it is shaped.
