    First Classic

Well I finally got to attend my first Classic! Well worth the trip, one heck of a show and all of the pros were great, except one. I had heard from friends of mine and a guide I hired in Florida that Roland Martin was an a$$hole of the highest order and I'll be damned if he did not prove it! Any of you guys/gals ever had similiar experience with this conceited turd?

I was there, too....Sorry we didn't meet up!!!!

Mr Martin is definitely not the friendly type. Found that out a loooong time ago...

About all you can expect from a guy who will put his name on anything for a penny....... Some of the junk he endorses is totally rediculous.

Went ahead and took photo with him since we were there but I cant tell which of us looks more annoyed, one for the trash bin. Never was a fan but now I despise him. Gonna have to go to Grand next year, am hoping to witness KVDs fifth although I dont think he does well there.

I went to the Chicago Classic years back and had Bill Dance and Hank Parker sign a hat (both great guys) Mr Martin replied with a "No Thanks" as he sat in his chair looking none to busy.
Lord, please keep your arm over my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.

I had the"Son" displeasure of meeting Mr. Martin some 25 years ago. He has a better than you attitude about meeting any fans then and sounds like he feels the same now...

Though I have never met the guy I know who few who have, and they have said nothing but bad things about him. One of the reasons I wish he would retire for good. Hate seeing him do good lol.

    Re: First Classic (kickerbass10)

How in the hell has he kept his sponsors? This jackhole was acting this way front and center of the Nitro stage! It was our turn to meet himm and as we approached he looked right at me then turned his back to us and began talking to some guy behind him, I started to walk away but another guy told us to hang on for a minute. He is no ambassador of the sport. First time I ever wanted to punch an old man

I remember seeing him at a boat show 15+ years ago and it sounds like he hasnt changed much. I think he thinks he is as important to the sport as Ray Scott. Take nothing away from his accomplishments or skills but humility is not in his DNA.

Never thought that, just by looking at him and hearing him talk. Good heads up. Never judge a book by it's cover. He would have a hard time blending in our Champion Family. Kinda disappointing.

Fortunately, we have two great, long-time ambassadors for our Champs. Mike McClelland and Skeet Reese
