    A little Rant.

Fished clear lake this past weekend. Weighed in 19.8lbs. Got our A$$'s handed to us.
First place 5 fish was 32 lbs. 2nd was 30lbs. Some 25 lb bags. All I could do was
congratulate the winners and walk away shaking my head.
I need to look at it as I learned something, we were safe, we had fun and I am able to do it. Thanks for listening.

Feel your pain pards, few times at Falcon with 25 or so sacks and didn't even bother to weigh them in, turn em loose and load up and run with tail firmly between legs.

    More than a few times...
We have winter visitors show up and fish tournaments (especially Falcon) and being the nice person I am, having conversations and hear, "Yep we're gonna win this, I'll bet we had a 4 lb average today" Try to break it gently, that he better not have a six pounder in his livewell if he thinks he's gonna win, and better not have a four if you want any sort of check.

They look at you like you've got an antler growing out of your forehead.

If you don't have 40 lbs. on Falcon, you're not even close. It's a wonderful lake.

I think I have seen a few oddball people around Zapata that had antlers coming out of their foreheads.

They used to do a good bit of uranium mining around Zapata, now we see the results...

What people who've never been there can't imagine, those fish are just different, a 16" bass will be 22" around, and weigh right at 5 lbs. And battle you to the bloody end. It's really hard for guys to leave an area when they are snatching five pounders every five minutes, but you better not have one of those little guys in your well at weigh in.

    Billy,
Look at it this way. How many guys do you think have never even weighed 20 lbs.? And Clear Lake suckers you in with those three and four pounders. I mean how do you move off areas when you're catching these size fish ? You had a fun day on the water and you'll go back and have another.

Almost forgot to add... How many are actually still fishing and catching fish this time of the year?
Merry Christmas and maybe see you up there over the holidays.
