    Maiden Voyage!!!

Finally got my new to us boat on the water today. A little difficult to get started, battery issues, long time since it ran, but finally got her running and went for a ride. Will change the batteries and charger from old boat to this one now that she has proven very worthy. Bilge pump did not work and the front nav light in the switch is always on. Bilge I think I can deal with, but is the front nav switch indicator light supposed to be on all the time? Obvioulsy it goes out when main power is off but once it is on then the indicator light is on. She ran 62 with me and my son 1/2 tank of fresh gas and no tackle. My son went for a run when I was gettting the truck and trailer and said he got to 70 with only him in the boat and 1/4 tank of gas. Running a four blade rengade.

Here are a couple of pics of the rig. Usually tow with an 04 tahoe but the wife had that at work today, so busted out the ole sub and took her to the lake. Son was impressed with the ChampioN, along with myself. Water pressure was around 4 at idle and got to 20 at WOT. Have not changed the impeller not sure if I need to? She has been sitting for a couple of years so I think I should just go ahead and do it. I have the parts.

Bilge, batteries, charger, front nav switch next!!!!! Move 1197 and Fortrex from old boat soon after. Trailer rust not sure?????

Thanks for all the help guys, I would not have made it without the help!!!!

Is that Speedometer or GPS ? If it's GPS, let me know your secret. That would be hauling the mail and then some. I'm trying to crack 60 MPH with my 150HP Intruder.

Anyway welcome to the Champ family. You got a fine looking rig !!

That was speedo, am going to put the GPS on soon so will get a more acurate reading for sure. Also, my son is a pretty good fisherman, meaning he has learned the art of exageration pretty darn well. Not sure where he got that from? Must be his mother

I am sure it will slow down on the GPS and when a real fishing load gets in it, and the livewells are full of fish........

The real question is where's the toads. I have won more tourneys on Austin than any other lake in America. You are in one of Americas top secret toad factories. Although a few friends have been whacking them on Travis, bad deal is only place to launch is Dink Pearson off the gravel.

Show me pics of the fish!!!

Yup, you are right there are some toads on that lake. It can be a tough lake at times with the water so clear. They just had a big bass tourney and 7.4 won it. Last week everyone was prefishing and getting much bigger bites. I think they sorelipped them all for the tourney. There was a 16.1 sharelunker this year. Going to fish it this week, just went for a ride today.

Check the nav light switch at the bow of the boat and see if you accidentally turned it on fooling around with the trolling motor. Boat looks good!
