Looks like my lowrance 27 is failing.........

and i'm looking at the hds7. How do you guys like the 7? I can traid the 27 in to lowrance and get a 7 for a good price. Just called and was told $499.00.
PS. it is for the front of the boat, don't think I will go with the LLSS thing at this time as I have a bird 997 and a lowrance 38 in the back of the boat.

FYI: they are coming out with a bunch of DI units this winter if you can hold off. You can buy one of the newbe's or get a heck of a deal on a 2011 model.

$500 for the trade-in or $1500-$2000 for a new Bird (no brainer based on $$)...My buddy had the same issue with his LCX-27, when it failed. No parts...He got the $500 HDS 7 and I can tell you the new 7 is much better than the LCX. I can write a thesis on why I hated the LCX-27 (go over one steep drop at Table Rock and you'll know what I'm talking about), but I won't waste your time.

Not many other 12" charts out there for 3k, or get the simrad NSE 12" screen. That one is structure scan capable.
