    Opinion of new Champion T-Shirt

Being a former Champion owner and in the T-Shirt business I am considering offering a new T-Shirt and I wanted to run it by some Champion guys before I produce it. Let me know what you think.

PE owns Champion boats name not the word Champion.

    I like the shirt!

Would like to see one that says: Champion saving your ass from rough water for 35 years

That is true, however, the old logo is not just the word Champion. It was the logo for many years, and could well be copy written.

I just think we need to see what PE actually does own. I love that T and do not want to see anyone get into trouble. PE is deciding on what to do about the TOC use of the logo as it is.

Nice but you might want to consider that "We will never forget " is the motto for the heroes who perished in 9-11.

What is wrong with copyrighting a design? The way the brand is presented.

Same goes for Harley and they are crazy about people using their brand name.. Do you blame them?

Would you like Bayliner come around and put a bass boat top cap on one of their hulls and use the champion name? After all, PE is evil for copyrighting the brand.

Not sure what you are upset about. The copyright prevents the scenario you are "hypothesizing" with Bayliner. Most companies copyright their logos. PE did not copyright it. But they bought the brand and all copyrights involved, as far as I know. They own the newer logo because they bought the company. I do not know if the old logo was included.

I am not upset about anything. I am just saying that I don't blame PE for having a copyright on a logo.

Almost everyone does it. Look at Harley, Look at Chevy (GM), Look at Ford.. You just cannot go making profits off of their branding at your own will.

Go ahead and reply Butch.. You are pretty level headed good guy so I wont take anything to heart.

Re: Opinion of new Champion T-Shirt (slinkeey)

OK: The graphic from back in the MTN Days would have long out lived any protection.

The Word Champion is not owned by anyone.

Several Ebay graphics are up for sale and well as watches made in China each and every week.

If the PE has a bone to pick: Go fight with Ebay! The last group to rock the boat with is current Champion owners.

I will buy this mans product and thats the way it is.

Complete "big brother control" will do nothing than drive me away. Net result: away from recommending any Flippn built product.
