Tell me , Does Evinrude notifly me as the owner of updates on my motor or the dealer . I have had some problems and talked to the dealer and was told I needed a update and when I picked it up he always tells me no update was needed . If I post my engine numbers would someone be able to help . Not that I do not trust them but I have had many return visits for the same problem and know some times they do not even start the motor .
If you post your Engine ser# and mod # the Gurus can tell you not only that but the work done under warranty. If you have an e-tec there have been some updates probably but you need to get them to tell you what the mapping is in it right now to compare.
BRP will only send out a notice to you if it is a live or die for the outboard. If you post your numbers we can try and help.
